A single step.

An act of free will that turns muscle contraction into motion.
Against Earth’s gravity, against time,
and against so many reasons to stay still.

One after another.
Steps turn into movement.
A steady path of micro-victories.

A pattern that repeats in every aspect of our lives.

Yet no matter how many steps are taken,
some things remain unknown:
why gravity pulls us down,
what free will truly is,
why some children have to fight battles they haven’t chosen.

We keep searching for answers. We still do not know.

But maybe that is what being human is about —
not to understand,
just to stay in motion.
